Dubai and Abu Dhabi are major theme-park destinations, bringing together one of the world's largest indoor parks, record-breaking roller coasters, LEGOLAND and a vast water park within reach of most hotels.
How to choose a park
For children aged 2-10, LEGOLAND focuses on play and creativity without intense thrill rides.
For teenagers and adults, choose IMG Worlds for superheroes and indoor thrills, or Ferrari World for high-speed attractions.
In hot weather, IMG Worlds is fully indoors and air-conditioned; Motiongate also offers a mix of indoor attractions and shaded areas.
For a day in the water, Yas Waterworld is especially comfortable from October to April.
A few practical tips
Weekdays usually mean shorter queues; popular rides can have 40-60 minute waits at weekends. Start with the headline attractions soon after opening. For Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld, I arrange a comfortable return transfer from Dubai.
