We walk the old lanes where the shade of the wind towers still carries stories from the age of the pearl divers, visit a small but welcoming open-air city museum, compare Emirati traditions before the oil era with life today, and get to know how local families actually live.
This walk lets you see the Emirates in a new light and lights a spark of affection for the Middle East that stays with you for years.
We drink a cup of proper Arabic coffee with cardamom and, if you wish, call on a professional calligrapher who will write your name in Arabic script.
We then cross the creek on a traditional abra and take in the aromas of spices and seasonings mixed with bakhoor incense and natural oils.
